Saturday, October 11th will be Michael's 48th Birthday....
I took Carrie to the hospital that afternoon, they told me to go home, saying it would be many hours before delivery....About 10 PM that night they called to say she had the baby. My mother wanted to come with me, she put on her coat ( the style then was something called a Box Coat, very boxy) we took a cab and when we got to the hospital, I was helping her out of the cab, when two nurses standing outside saw us, came running over, took my mother, one on each side and rushed her into the hospital....she did not know what was happening....they thought she was having a baby ( remember the box coat ?)....when we told them no....we all laughed....I was taken to Carries room, the nurse said say hello to your wife and I will bring the baby...She pointed to the bed and opened the curtain, I looked down and was shocked...I had no idea, that a woman would change so much after having a baby.....the nurse shook the woman and said your husband is here..she opened her eyes and looked at me and fell asleep....then the nurse said, oh wait your wife is in the other bed...I finally got to see Carrie and was happy that she did not change at all....Then she brought Michael in and I saw him for the first time..I was so excited, he opened his eyes and actually smiled...the nurse said...your son his happy to see you....ah what a wonderful day for all of us....
Have a Great Birthday Michael..Luv Ya

Happy Birthday Godson. I got plenty of child care experience babysitting you. Thanks for the practice - I had a blast. And I won a quarter in a bet with a school friend that you would be a boy. She didn't believe in the chicken tester. Maybe your father will tell that story.
Love ya,

Happy Birthday to the best brother in the world !!!
I don't remember the day you were born, but I do remember many many good and funny times growing up. You are now only 21 years away from the magical number, although I didn't hear any magic from Don yet ;-)
To put things in perspective you are roughly the same age now, as Dad was when Lauren was born... how scarey is that....
I think Dad forgot to add the part about how you were weighed on a bread scale when you were born and Mom took you up to Vernon Blvd to the clinic and the Doctor said, what are you trying to do, kill this baby, then you went home and Jombean said to you, Show us your wings Mike. Day was working nights in IWOL back then, cleaning feathers for a burlesque dancer....Opps.. wrong story.
Happy Bithday - Love ya !!!
