Saw this on line and it brought back a lot of memories...In 1952 I was in Madam Roseann's class, 8B, in St. Mary's School in Long Island City.... For those who do not know, the order of nun's we had were referred to as Madam. Madam Roseann was very very pretty and I had a crush on her...I thought it was a sin to do that but.......I continued keeping in touch with her for many years and each Christmas I would send her a check...one year I the check was returned by the convent with a note saying Madam Roseann had left the order...But getting back to this song...one day for music lesson each kid in the class had to stand up and sing a song...I was very shy, yes I said very shy as a kid...when she called on me the only song I could think of was "Music, Music, Music".... sung by Theresa Brewer, I can still remember standing next to my desk and singing the entire song...the weirdest part to me is that it was 56 years ago..but when I heard the song again for the first time in many years I still remembered every word...hope I do not forget to post this...

Very sweet story ...
of course, I can't stop thinking about you wanting to hit on a nun and sending her money!
Love you, see you next week!

Hi Kel,
Don't get too carried away with your imagination. I too remember Madame Roseann. Yes she was very pretty, at least the fraction of her face that you could see. Their habits didn't have side views, you looked into an somewhat oval opening. But she was "pleasingly plump" and very stressed so had cold sores around her mouth fairly frequently (at least that's what we innocent children thought they were). Actually, if you ever saw the movie "Sister Act" the plump happy nun always reminded me of Madame Roseann.
She had a beautiful voice and was in charge of the Choir which I sang in and she was quite a drama queen. Would love to meet her now...she's probably around 78.
Don, aren't you grateful to have someone to do a reality check. I'm sure Janet remembers her as well...interesting to hear her impression.
Don,
Glad you sang that one and not "Pickle-up-a-doodle." I think we both missed that one.
Wow.. now this is a sweet story. My Dad remembers an attractive Madame Roseann, and Ayn recalls her as Roseann Barr.
When we were kids, my dads favorite TV show was Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall. I recall he always had an affinity for Wayland Flowers and Madame. Maybe it was because Wayland had his hand up Madame's skirt... ( Paul Lynde and George Gobel would have loved that one).
I won't touch the cold sores around the mouth, too many funny things to say, which I won't.
The checks to Madame Roseann.. well, I now see my Dad was ahead of his time. He had his own Kristen Dupree, and was like Eliot Spitzer, except he gave the BLING, but didn't get any ZING. Thank god he did'nt get in that HABIT.
Thank you all for your comments...But Sis you did not add that I had Madame Roseann 8 years before you did...when I had her she was not plump, had no sores and was quite young and pretty, middle 20's I would guess..I was married when I got the check back, I think it was around 1959 or 60...now if you want to talk about Miss Kelly...??? but that is a whole new story I have to tell it includes Mom Dad and me...and yes Ron, I got Nun at all.....
hi
WELL I DO REMEMBER MADAME ROSEANN, SHE WAS PRETTY, WONDER WHY SHE LEFT.....THAT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO KNOW.....I LOVE RONNIE'S COMMENT......
CAN YOU BELIEVE WE WERE IN THE SAME CLASS, AT THAT TIME IT DIDN'T SEEM SO IMPRESSING HA......
ALTHOUGH ANYTHING I DID WRONG WOULD GET HOME TO MY AUNT. HA
I REMEMBER ONCE I DIDN'T HAVE MY UNIFORM AND SHE HAD A FIT........
I DO REMEMBER SOMEONE CAME IN WITH A SEE THRU BLOUSE AND NO SLIP ,

AUNT JANET & UNCLE MELL
Janet I think the see thru story was Conchetta Schetta, but it was not a sin, as I remember she had nothing to hide or show so she was forgiven...as far as Madame Roseann I heard that she eventally got married but I am not sure. I also recall that after you dressed as a Nun for a procession...all the nuns wanted to resign...they did not want to look like a Prudente Girl....
